What is Toggle?
We don't act like your typical insurance company because we're not your typical insurance company. We do things a little differently - like design products that are flexible and customizable, to fit your needs. But insurance is deep in our DNA. We're a member of the Farmers® Insurance family, which means when you need us, we're there. And with over 90 years of experience, we're not fly by night.

Toggle renters insurance is currently available in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin - but we’re expanding to more states soon! Toggle auto insurance is currently available in Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas - but we're expanding to more states soon! Insurance Basics

Does applying for a policy negatively impact my credit score?
Not at all! When you apply for a quote with Toggle, we may obtain your credit information or other third party consumer reports to offer a price uniquely for you, depending on your state. Don't worry though, any credit inquiry is considered a 'soft hit' that won't affect your credit score in any way.
What is a deductible?
A deductible is the amount you're responsible for paying in the event you have certain covered losses to your personal property. If, for example, you select a $500 deductible and you have a covered claim with damages totaling $3,000, we will pay $3,000 minus your $500 deductible. So, your issued payment would be $2,500.
How long does my Toggle policy last?
Toggle Renters policies are 12 months in length, from the coverage start date that you select. Toggle Auto policies are 6 months in length, from the coverage start date that you select.
How far in advance can I purchase a policy?
You can purchase a policy up to 30 days in advance of your desired coverage start date.

Landlords + Property Managers

How can I be sure my tenants have the required insurance coverage?
With Toggle, if your tenants add you as an Additional Interest on their renters insurance policy, we'll send you proof of their insurance directly. We'll also notify you if they cancel their policy.
Is your renters insurance policy good for a full year?
Yes, Toggle renters insurance policies are effective for 12 months from the start date your tenant selected at the time of purchase. That timeframe will be indicated on your tenant's proof of insurance, which can be sent to you directly if they add you as an Additional Interest on their policy.
Can my tenants pay up front for a full year of coverage?
No. While we do offer an annual policy (effective for 12 months from the start date), payments are charged on a monthly basis. We do not currently offer a paid-in-full payment option.
How can I partner with Toggle to receive a referral fee for any tenant that purchases a policy?
Toggle has a Property Manager program that may provide a referral fee depending on your state. If interested, you can find out more details and sign up for the program here:

Does Toggle have an app?
Not yet! But we have a mobile friendly website that allows you to manage your policy anytime, anywhere.
Can Toggle help me cancel my previous insurance policy?
Absolutely! Break-ups can be super awkward, so let us have that conversation for you. We'll help you cancel your previous insurance policy and request any refund that you may be owed. To do that, simply log into your Toggle account and submit the request form. We will forward that request to your old insurance company for them handle any refund that you may be owed.
